Manitoba Government Autism Funding
Snug Vest may be (and has in the past been) covered by Children’s disABILITY Services (CDS) through the Disability and Health Supports Unit.
Step 1: Eligibility
In order to be eligible, the child must meet the following criteria:
The child must be under age of 17
The child and the parent or guardian must reside in Manitoba
The child must be officially diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Step 2: Contact your closest regional or community-related office
You will need to provide:
- Basic information about yourself and your child, such as diagnostic information
- A referral from an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- The type of assistance you are looking for
A CDS staff person will contact you and advise you of next steps in the process.
Step 3: Apply to have Snug Vest paid for through your child's autism funds
Once eligibility is confirmed, the OT will be required to fill this form and forward it to CDS.
We recommend trying the following charities, although have no previous experience with them. Please let us know if you have any information about these or other charities, or need assistance with your funding application:
