Our founder, Lisa Fraser, nominated for Emerging Entrepreneur Award!
Our founder, Lisa Fraser, has dedicated her life to helping kids on the Autism Spectrum and those with Sensory Processing difficulties. She has worked tirelessly to find a solution to providing pressure that is safe and effective, while also reducing the stigma that surrounds developmental disabilities.
She first came up with the idea of Snug Vest as a student at Emily Carr University. After graduating she spent two years and hundreds of prototypes making changes to the "Bear Hug" vest. She worked with Occupational Therapists and individuals on the Spectrum to ensure that the pressure was evenly distributed, the materials and fabrics were as sensory friendly as possible, and that it worked effectively. The Bear Hug eventually became Snug Vest - the product that you know today!
She launched Snug Vest in January 2013, and has since been working to not only refine the product, but to spread word about it throughout North America. As an industrial designer, she took a giant leap into the world of business. She has done an incredible job of learning about marketing, finance, accounting, human resources, and every single aspect of business as needed.
Lisa is an inspiration to emerging entrepreneurs throughout BC who are facing similar challenges to the many that she has overcome during the past five years. We are so excited that our CEO and founder is up for this amazing, well deserved award! Please help us out and vote for her to win emerging entrepreneur of the year!
